To KDP or not KDP

I’m often asked,

Whether its worth doing KDP or not,

Normally by lower tiers who want to pick one,

The short answer,

YES,

KDP is VERY worth it,

KDP has much more potential than MBA,

Because you can build a brand and fan base that you have access to,

Unlike MBA,

Where you can have a branded store (i have one)

But no access to your buyers,

With KDP,

You can have a good selling book,

Add a website and free gift offer to the kindle version,

And BOOM, you start collecting emails,

Which you can monetise,

I’m doing this at the moment,

Its a slower start than Merch by amazon,

KDP requires you to put more effort, creativity and work into your books,

My best seller on merch by amazon took me 5 minutes to make,

My best seller on KDP took me a few hours,

I would say, IF you can make the time,

Put some of that time in KDP,

My Top 3 Tips for New starters in KDP

1. Start and finish

When you’re new to KDP,

The best thing is to get a book published as quick as possible,

Because you’ll learn a who lot more than planning,

I’m big on action and workflow,

Build up a kdp workflow to create and publish a book in a day or 2,

As you get good at the process,

You can build on making the book more intricate,

For example,

When I first started on KDP,

I was doing the usual no content journals,

Which is a blank lined journal and a quick designs on the cover,

Simple, easy and could publish shit loads a day,

Then i moved onto low content,

Which would include customised interiors to suit the buyer,

Like goal setting workbooks, or motivational quotes and exercises etc,

Then colour books,

Now I do middle to high content books,

I created a confidence and system,

Because I started a book and finished it,

If you start and don’t finish,

It puts a drain on your KDP business,

And mindset,

No one likes unfinished business,

And the momentum and confidence you get from completing each book,

Also the experience,

Is a good start to KDP

2. Do something you know

Easiest thing to do with KDP,

create a low content book,

In a subject you know well,

My best sellers are books in subjects that I know,

I created those books from my head with no research,

I have the research in my head,

And it’s also enjoyable as I like these subjects

So the process is a lot faster as you’ll flow,

Also people that buy your book,

And are interested in that subject,

Will appreciate that the content you are giving,

Is genuine and good quality,

Therefore good reviews,

Which keeps a books momentum with sales

3. AI as a tool

Use AI as a TOOL,

Not to create the whole book,

AI can create a whole book,

I’ve done this,

And its made sales,

But i think long term its not a good strategy,

Like google can spot AI blogs,

Only a matter of time before amazon start spotting AI books,

What I do,

Is use AI to create a structure of a story,

And some brainstorming ideas,

Then I tweak it with my own creativity,

I’m good with the creative stuff,

But not so much how it is written,

So AI is perfect for me,

Use it as a tool and you’ll keep your account safe

And be able to scale up quicker

Should you start a KDP account

YES

MAKE the time to do it

Its a great addition to your MBA account

And if you’ve got an MBA account the chances are you already got a KDP account so you can start now

REMEMBER

You want to ADD VALUE to your customers lives

So don’t just spam AI or no content journals,

Do a book in a subject you know and do it properly,

Get better and faster at doing HIGH QUALITY books and journals,

It’ll keep your account safe too,

Bare people are getting their KDP account terminated
